Homeless veteran Richard Sour explains how his friends call him “Mumbles” because he tends to stutter a lot when he speaks.
Prior to being homeless he served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years. He was dishonorably discharged for getting into a fight with a senior military officer of a higher rank. This resulted in losing his military pension and being forced to live on the streets of Reno.
Mumbles says that the most difficult thing about being homeless is getting through the winter season, especially since he has arthritis in his hands.
Mumbles describes one of his craziest experiences where he had to spend 11 days in jail for a crime he did not commit.
